Create study hall sections

After you run the Study Hall Balance Summary report, use the information to determine how many study hall sections you need to create to fill holes in student schedules.

For each term, period, and day students are not scheduled, create a study hall section.

Also, you can run the Teacher Utilization report to see which teachers can monitor each study hall section.

Note: You must have a course in your course catalog designated for study halls before you can create sections for that course. Aspen has a default course number XOOS for study halls. To access that course, click the Courses tab. Find and select course number XOOS. Define the number of sections you need to offer.

When you create study hall sections, define the terms and schedule expressions to determine the days and periods they meet. You can also assign teachers and rooms to those sections.

To create study hall sections:

  1. Log on to the Build view.
  2. Click the Workspace tab.
  3. From the Options menu, click Add.

Now, you need to load students into the study hall sections you create.
