Defining Course Scheduling Parameters

Before you build your master schedule, you need to define the courses you are going to include in your schedule. For each course, you define course parameters such as the periods per cycle, the schedule pattern, and acceptable alternates.

Note: You can copy your current year courses forward to the build year. This way, you do not have to create a course catalog from scratch. After you copy the current courses, you can make any edits you need to for next year’s schedule.

To define course scheduling parameters:

  1. Define specific parameters for each course.
  2. Calculate the number of sections you will need to offer for each course based on student course requests.
  3. Run the Course Tally report.

Note: You can also create courses that are multi-section classes.

Also, you can restrict courses students can request as alternates.
