Before you build your schedule, there are several ways to assign teachers to course sections.
- Create teacher assignments by department or term. Use a grid to enter the number of sections Aspen should schedule for each teacher by department or term.
- Align teacher certification with teacher assignments. You can use a teacher’s certification information to help Aspen determine if it can assign the teacher to teach a course.
- Create split teacher assignments for those course sections that are taught by more than one teacher.
- For each teacher, define a list of courses he or she is qualified to teach. The system assigns the sections to teachers who are available during the time slots Aspen schedules the sections. This is helpful for elective courses that only a few teachers might be qualified to teach.
