Using the Settings Bar

The settings bar the bar on the top-right corner of every page in Aspen is at the top right-hand corner of every page in the Aspen student information platform:

On the settings bar, you can do the following:

• Click the view drop-down to change to the District, School, Staff, Health, Build, Special Education, Personnel, Family, or Student view. You will not see the Change View option if you do not have access to more than one view.

Note: If you already logged on to a specific school, and you have access to more than one school, the settings bar also includes the Select school option. Click Select School to change to a different school. The settings bar includes the Select teacher option when in the Staff view, if you have appropriate privileges.

• Click your name and then Set Preferences to set your user preferences when using Aspen. For example, you can change your password or indicate that you want to be warned to save information when editing a column on a list.
• Click Log Off to log off from the system. For security reasons, it is important to log off before leaving your desk. Closing the browser window without first logging off from Aspen keeps the user session open. To minimize security risks, always click Log Off before closing the browser window.
