Create user-defined Help for fields

To help users enter information in a field, system administrators can write instructions that is available from within Aspen.

The user-defined help icon  appears next to each field a system administrator has written help for. When a user hovers over , the help appears.

To create help for a field:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Select Admin > Data Dictionary.
  3. Select the table, and then click Fields on the side-tab.
  4. Click the Help sub-tab.The System Tables field Help page appears.
  1. Select the Enable field-level help checkbox.
  2. Use the text editor to type the information.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Select Options> Reload Data Dictionary.
