Define details for a program of studies

A program of studiesClosed a shell containing all of the requirements students assigned to that program must complete is the shell that contains all of the requirements students assigned to that program must complete.

When creating a program of studies, you first define the details.

To define the details:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Select Schedule > Programs of Study. A list of any previously created programs appears. You can click an existing program to view its details.

  1. Select Options > Add. The New Graduation Program page appears.
  2. Use this table to enter information on the New Graduation Program page:

    Description

    NameType a name for the program.
    Total credit This field is read-only. Aspen calculates this value by totaling the program's requirements.
    Diploma typeSelect the type of diploma a student receives upon completion of this program.
    DescriptionType a description.
    ObsoleteSelect this checkbox if the program no longer applies to students.
    HideSelect this checkbox if you want to hide any obsolete programs on the list of programs.
    Enforce totalIf you waive and redistribute credits towards graduation requirements, select this checkbox. When this field is enabled, students must satisfy all individual graduation requirements and meet the total credits required by their program of study, regardless of any waivers applied.
  1. Click Save.
  2. Click the Programs of Study side-tab. You can click on the program you just created to view its requirements.

    At the bottom of the page, any requirements already defined for the program appear.

    Any requirement with a type of Requirement Group or Program Studies can be expanded to view its individual rules.
