Build study hall locations

Use the Build Study Location wizardClosed a sequence of dialog boxes which walk a user through a potentially complex task, such as the Build Study Locations wizard to have the system help you create study sections based on the number of students who do not have a full schedule, and assign available teachers and rooms to each study section.

To build study locations:

  1. Log on to the School view.
  2. Click the Schedule tab.
  3. On the Options menu, click Studies, then Build Locations. Step 1 of the Build Study Location wizard appears:
  1. Select each of the following:
    • Study course
    • Student grade levels
    • Terms
    • Pattern set
  1. In the Section enrollment max field, type the maximum number of students the system can enroll in this study.
  2. In the Schedule mode field, select Replace existing study sections to delete all existing studies and create new studies, or Append new study sections to create any missing studies.
  3. Click Next. Step 2 of the Build Study Location wizard appears
  4. If a teacher is available during a specific period, a Y appears. Select the checkbox in the Select column to include the teacher who can be assigned to study sections. Click the checkbox in the Select column header to select all teachers.
  5. Click Next. Step 3 of the Build Study Location wizard appears.
  6. If a room is available during a specific period, a Y appears. Select the checkbox in the Select column to include the room to be assigned to a study section. Select the checkbox in the Select column header to select all rooms.
  7. Click Finish. The system creates studies in the schedule assigned to the teachers you selected, in the rooms you selected.
