Give Nurse roles the ability to make dose overrides

Through a user roleClosed used to grant or restrict access to a group of users (such as teachers or nurses) to different areas and functions in Aspen privilege, Aspen system administrators can give users the ability to make specific overrides to immunization doses.

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Click the Admin tab, and then click the Security side-tab.
  3. In the Name column, click the user role you want to work with, such as Nurse.
  1. Next to Security Access, click the Category drop-down to select Health. The Health table appears.
  1. In the Health Immunization Dose row, Other column, select or deselect the following checkboxes, which determine this role's override abilities:
    • Allow no date doses: Allows a user to enter an immunization dose without a date. This might occur when a student transfers from out of the country and it is known they are compliant, but one or more of the immunization dates are unknown.
    • Allow skipped doses: Allows a user to authorize a skipped dose of an immunization. This might occur if a student missed an appointment. It allows the nurse to track this and enter a comment explaining the situation and any actions required.
    • Allow waived doses: Allows a user to waive a particular dose of an immunization series. This might occur if a student has already started an immunization series and then contracts the illness, like chicken pox.
  1. Click Save to save your changes.
  2. Repeat steps 3–6 as needed.
