Define health screenings performed at your school

While Aspen has a set of standard health screenings, you might need to customize the existing screening definitions for your district. You might also need to add new health screenings that are not part of the standard set.

To update or add a health screening definition:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Click the Admin tab.
  3. Click the Data Dictionary > Extensions side-tab. The Extensions page appears.
  4. From the Options menu, click Add. The New Extended Dictionary page appears.
  5. Enter an identifier and name for the screening.
  6. Type a short description, if desired.
  7. Click the Category drop-down to select Health.
  8. Click Search icon. to select the Parent dictionary > Name.
  9. Select the Health checkbox.
  10. Note: If you do not select this checkbox, the system will do it for you when you leave the page.

  1. From the Dictionary Audit Type drop-down, select one of the following audit types:
    • None: Aspen will not track changes to information in this table or its fields.
    • Partial: Aspen will track changes only to the individual fields you select. If you select this checkbox, you must define which fields in the table you want to audit on the field's details page.
    • All: Aspen will track changes to information in all fields in this table.
  1. Click Save. Nurses can now enter records for the health screenings they perform on students.
