Managing Student Attendance

Use Aspen to record and manage attendance records that can keep track of arrivals, departures, and absences of students.

There are two parts of an attendance record:

  1. The actual record — this stores the date, the code, and whether the tardy, dismissed, or excused checkboxes were selected.
  2. The arrival and departure times — these are for informational purposes only. They do not affect membership statistics.

You must set up attendance before you can enter attendance records.

Enter attendance in the District or School view, or teachers can enter student attendance during a homeroom or classroom period within the Staff view.
