Link Conduct Action reference codes to Student Class Attendance codes

When you link a Conduct Action code for suspensions to Student Daily Attendance code(s), you can also link the conduct code to Student Class Attendance code(s). That way, Aspen can create or update both daily and class attendance records when the conduct record is created or updated.

To link Conduct Action reference codes to Student Class Attendance codes:

  1. Log on the District view.
  2. Select Admin > Data Dictionary > Reference. A list of reference tables appears.
  3. Select the Student Class Attendance Codes reference table, and then click Codes on the Reference side-tab. Any existing codes appear.
  4. For each Student Daily Attendance code that is linked to a Conduct Action reference code, add the corresponding Student Class Attendance code using these steps:
    1. Select Options > Add.
    2. At the Code field, enter the Student Daily Attendance code.
    3. At the Code Type field, select Other Code.
    4. Select the Is absent? checkbox.
    5. At the Local code field, enter the Student Daily Attendance Code. This links the conduct action of the suspension to both daily and class attendance codes.
      Note: If you do not see the Local code field, add it to your default field set.
    1. Click Save.
      Note: If the district (root organization) has enabled the Attendance activity tracking Daily Attendance preference, then the user's student attendance and student class attendance edit privileges are in effect.
